Elevating World-Class African Talent and Innovation

A hybrid social enterprise pioneering regional talent development, applied R&D, and venture building

Our mission: “We drive socio-economic development in Côte d'Ivoire and the region through technology by fostering opportunities for entrepreneurs, talent and innovation.”

A New Model — Adei Institute of Technology

We are building a pipeline of elite engineering talent and ventures to unlock Francophone Africa's tech innovation potential.

Adei Institute of Technology operates as a hybrid social enterprise: our mission to drive socioeconomic development through technology in West and Francophone Africa is supported by resilient, revenue-generating commercial arms, rather than depending on grant funding alone.

Professional Education

Adei Institute — executive and technical training, delivered at market rates to organizations, cross-subsidizing broader access. Delivery runs through Adei Institute of Technology, ensuring a robust, on-demand training organization is always available to support the Elite Fellowships.

Elite Fellowships

Sponsored cohorts across Founders/Startups and Data & AI Engineering fellowship tracks — partial or fully funded scholarships, or corporate/institutional cohort sponsorship — bridging our commercial and nonprofit arms directly.

Applied R&D Residencies

Top engineering talent placed in residence to natively augment portfolio companies' technologies, fast-tracking market readiness and scale. This de-risking phase produces commercially investable ventures and an unmatched engineering talent pool in Francophone Africa.

These pillars operate as one pipeline, not separate businesses. Underlying this pipeline:

• Our Consulting Arm allows to keep our top engineering talent working locally, and directly serves the complex technology integration, digital transformation, and AI adoption needs of corporate and institutional clients across the region.

• Our Network of Partner Tech Hubs — provides a regional infrastructure that acts as the sourcing filter underneath all pillars, and reduce operational risk with local support.

The Adei Foundation (501(c)(3)) continues as the nonprofit arm — now delivering its programs at cost through the commercial training infrastructure, while dedicating its own capacity to fundraising, impact scaling and pro bono mentorship.

From Nonprofit Initiative to Social Enterprise: Why We Restructured

In 2023, our flagship Advanced Technical Skills Program — a 9-month Data Science Fellowship — was disrupted before completion. Looking closely at why, two structural patterns emerged, both inherent to operating advanced technical programs purely as a nonprofit:

1. A single point of failure between delivery and fundraising. Running a program and securing its next phase of funding could not be effectively managed by the same person at the same time.
2. Advanced technical programs are resource-intensive in a way nonprofit funding cycles struggle to sustain. Unlike lighter-touch mentorship or accelerator formats, data science and engineering curricula require sustained, well-resourced delivery that is difficult to fund on pro bono capacity and grant timing alone.

2024–2025 became a period of deliberate transformation — a 5-year cross-continental fiscal audit and securing FDFP accreditation, laying the foundation for the commercial launch of Adei Institute's for-profit education arm in 2026.
